Session 1: Management (Is Cybersecurity COVID-19 Resistant?)

Moderator:

National Cyber and Crypto Agency (NCCA), Indonesia

Muhammad Salman is currently a lecturer and researcher at the Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia focusing on the field of Network and Information Security. Salman holds a Doctoral degree in Information Network Security from Universitas Indonesia, and Master degree in Information Technology from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. He was also a former board member of the Indonesia Security Incident Response Team on Internet Infrastructure (ID-SIRTII) and now he is involved as a Board Member of the Indonesia GovCSIRT under the National Cybersecurity Agency, National Cyber and Crypto Agency (Badan Siber dan Sandi Negara - BSSN). He is also a Co-Founder and Board Member of the newly established agency, Id-CARE.UI (Indonesia Cybersecurity and Resilience Center, Universitas Indonesia), developing capacity building and research programme in cybersecurity related field. Salman is also a Council Member and Professional Instructor for Cisco Networking Academy (CCAI) establishing professional certification program for students. In supporting international academic collaboration, he is the counterpart and student counselor for the International Joint Degree program between UI and Univ Duisburg-Essen Germany. He is also actively involved in conducting and managing the ICT Community Development for Bridging the Digital Divide and the Building Internet Security and Safety Awareness. He is also a member of the IEEE Computer Society, ISSA, ISACA, ISOC, ACM, CSA and IACSIT. Salman also has lots of experiences from his previous roles participating in different regional and international forums and committees in information security including APCERT, ANSAC, CAMP, FIRST and OIC-CERT, as well as actively participating and delivering speech in several conferences, workshops, trainings including information security, networks, ICT community development, professional education, industry and academic partnership.

Mr. Alexander Kalinin,

CERT GIB

Alexander Kalinin, Head of the CERT team at Group-IB for almost 10 years. Group-IB’s Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-GIB) leads the way in security event and incident management, being the first such team in Eastern Europe and providing round-the-clock assistance. The team assist clients with information security incident management and provide recommendations through the necessary support lines/tiers and specialists from analysts and reverse engineers to team leads and SOC architects.

Mr. Adli Wahid,

FIRST

Adli Wahid is a Security Specialist at the Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC). He is responsible for the APNIC’s security engagement and outreach program. His engagement activities include providing technical support & training for network operators, Law Enforcement Agencies and CERTs/CSIRTs. Adli is also the technical lead for the APNIC Community Honeynet Project. Adli has more than 10 years of experience with the security response community. Prior to joining APNIC, Adli was the Head of Malaysia CERT (MYCERT) and had served as a member of Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ Security Response Team (MUFG-CERT). Adli had also served as the Board member of the Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST.org) from 2014-2019.

 

 

Session 2: Technical (COVID-19 Hardening Security Operation)

Professor Dr Rabiah Ahmad, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka
Received BSc Computer Science (UTM), MSc Information Security (Royal Holloway University of London), PhD Information Studies (University of Sheffield). She is Professor in Information Security since 2015 at the Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka. Her administration position was Deputy Director for Research Management Center UTeM from 2013-2017. In 2017 to 2020 she was appointed as the Director at UTeM Center for Strategic Planing, Quality and Risks Management. Current position is the Dean of Faculty of Information System & Communication Technology UTeM. Rabiah actively involved in teaching information security and related area at Universities and International Training Center; UTeM, UTM, and German Malaysia Institute. Rabiah Ahmad was appointed Head of Examination Committee Professional Scheme in Cyber Security known as Global Accreditation of Cyber Security Education (the GlobalACE Scheme) initiated by OIC-Center for Emergency Response Team (OIC-CERT). Her research interests include Information Security Management, Security Architecture, Healthcare system security, Cyber Physical System Security and Insider Threats. Rabiah was a project leader for many projects in information security with cost more than RM2 Million. Throughout her career, she has published various articles in the area of information security and cyber physical system at national and international journal, conferences and public media. Her latest publications are first; Cyber Terrorism: Policy and Technical Perspective; Second: Multimedia Forensics. Rabiah Ahmad registered as professional membership to OIC-CERT since 2015 and she involved in special project titled “Combating Cyber Violent Extremism” funded by Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Her outstanding contribution in information and cyber security can be seen through her involvement as invited speaker, examiners and reviewers for various occasions related to both areas for local and international institutions.

Mr. Jacomo Piccolini,

Team Cymru

Jacomo Piccolini joined Team Cymru in 2012 as part of the Outreach Team and is based in Brazil. Prior to working at Team Cymru, he worked at the Brazilian Research and Academic Network, in the Academic CSIRT, and acted as the Academic Coordinator for the Educational School’s security and IT governance curriculum. With 21 years of field experience, Jacomo holds a degree in Engineering and a post-graduate degree in Computer Science and Business Administration. Jacomo is known globally due to his long time involvement in FIRST (The Forum for Incident Response and Security Teams). He is a Liaison Member of FIRST and the team representative for Team Cymru at FIRST.org and OIC-CERT. Jacomo is also known for his work and contributions within several security communities and trust-based groups and responsible for Team Cymru's Community Services, including the CSIRT Assistance Program (CAP) and the Data Sharing Partnerships. Where possible, he returns to education as an invited professor, teaching post-graduate network forensics, and CSIRT security courses. When not working to make the networks a safer place, Jacomo spends time doing his other great love, photography.

Ms. Yukako Uchida,

APCERT

Yukako Uchida is the Manager of Global Coordination Division at Japan Computer Emergency Response Team Coordination Center (JPCERT/CC). She is responsible for international collaboration activities with overseas Cyber Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs), mainly in the Asia Pacific region. She acts as the point of contact for Asia Pacific Computer Emergency Response Team (APCERT), for which JPCERT/CC serves as the Secretariat, and oversees administrative duties.

Dr. Rudi Lumanto,

CSIRT.ID

Rudi Lumanto is the Chairman of CSIRT.ID (Cyber ​​Security Incident and Resilience Team of Indonesia) an independent organization that focusing on improving security awareness and resilience by conducting independent cyber security researches, collaboration, partnership and capacity building. CSIRT.ID helps the cyber communities improve their cyber security posture and respond to cyber incidents they face. Rudi is also the former chairman of Id-SIRTII/CC, the national CSIRT of Indonesia, from 2011 to March 2020. He has worked at the Agency for the Application and Assessment of Technology (BPPT), Ministry of Communication and Information Technology then at the National Cyber ​​and Crypto Agency (BSSN) during the period 1988 to March 2020. Currently he is also a Lecturer at the Postgraduate School of Information Security, Faculty of Technology, University of Indonesia, and also a Member of the Expert Council of the IDCARE Center (Indonesian Cyber ​​Awareness and Resilience Center), University of Indonesia. Rudi Lumanto holds a Bachelor of Engineering, Master of Engineering and PhD degree from Japan.

 

 

Session 3: Technical (Surviving in the Time of Pandemic)

TunCERT, Tunisia

Having a Masters degree in English language and Civilisation in 2004 from Manouba University of Arts and Civilisation, Tunis, Tunisia, she joined the National Agency for Computer Security, (Tun-CERT) in 2005. She In charge of the international cooperation, which is a unity under the General Direction. Hasna has participated in several national and international seminars and conferences.

 

Presently, her immediate tasks are mainly:

  • Discussion and edition of bilateral contracts and MOUs
  • In head of Logistic team in seminars organised or co-organised by Tun-CERT
  • Translator and reporter

Eng. Haitham Hilal Al Hajri,

OCERT, Oman

Haitham Hilal AL Hajri is an Executive- Cyber Security Specialist at the Information Technology Authority - Oman National CERT, within the Cyber professional Services Division at O.CERT. He has a Master’s Degree in Digital Forensics Laboratories, and a cluster of professional and specialized certifications within the IT Security field such as certified Data Recovery and certified Computer Forensics examiner along with double major bachelor of computer security and internetworking technologies. Haitham has participated in many projects in Australia and presented in many conferences, nationally and internationally. Areas of interest are forensics methodologies & regulations in enhancing cyber security from threats such as hacking and various intrusion techniques and the manipulation associated with hiding evidence especially utilizing anti-forensics and anti-recovery techniques. Haitham currently is focusing on providing training & support to the IT SEC Governance, within Government Departments & National Infrastructure. He has been involved in planning and implementing a variety of IT & Cyber Security Campaigns. Areas of interest are Cyber Crimes, Hacktivism and Digital Investigations. Currently Haitham is undergoing a PhD study highlighting the importance and criticality of cyber security capacity building within critical infrastructure organizations, and the effectiveness of promoting and formation of cyber security culture, among the staff and employees to reduce cyber security persistent threats. Hence Haitham is focusing on providing specialized Information Security Courses to many Education institutes within Oman, and part time training and consultancy in Information Security and digital forensics.

aeCERT, UAE

Abdelaziz Alzarooni is a Team Leader for the Cybersecurity Capacity & Business Development in the UAE Telecommunications Regulatory Authority. He leads national programs for awareness and capability building in cybersecurity as well as Child Online Protection, with the aim of creating a safer cyber environment. Abdelaziz is the chair of the council working group on child online protection and a vice-chair of the ITU-D Study Group 2 within ITU.

Mr. Aloysius Cheang,

Huawei

Aloysius joins Huawei UAE as the company’s Chief Security Officer (CSO) based in Dubai. As the CSO, he is responsible for driving the Company’s cybersecurity vision in the UAE and the region, ensuring that Huawei can help UAE and the region build a safe and secure intelligent connected digital economy while enabling the businesses to address the customers’ security and data privacy requirements. He is currently a Member of the Board of Directors for US-based (ISC)2, the world’s largest IT security organization specializing in training and professional certifications for cybersecurity professionals. He is also a Board Director for UK-based cyber leadership think tank, the Centre for Strategic Cyberspace + International Studies. Aloysius most recent appointment is the Co-Founder and Managing Director for the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) Asia Pacific, having overseen the organization’s superlative expansion outside of the USA and all of CSA’s global standardization efforts. Before his stint with the CSA, he was the Worldwide Head of Security with Vodafone Global Enterprise and a Security and Forensic Practice Leader with PricewaterhouseCoopers Singapore, having started his career with DSO National Laboratories in Singapore focusing on Defence R&D.

 

An active community leader, Aloysius was instrumental in driving IT Security professionalization, with attempts to create dual hubs for the certification/chartering process in the mid-2000s with the Institute for Information Security Professionals (IISP) now known as Chartered Institute of Information Security in UK and Association of Information Security Professionals (AISP) in Singapore, of which he was the protem AISP chairman from 2002- 2007. Additionally, he was a former Head of Delegation for the Singapore National Body to ISO, liaison person to ITU-T SG 13 and SG 17, the author of ISO/IEC 27032 “Guidelines for Cybersecurity" International Standard and had previously contributed significantly to SS507 “Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery Industry Standard” that was adopted as ISO/IEC 24762.

 

As a globally recognized cybersecurity expert, Aloysius‘s professional perspective is highly valued by the major media such as the BBC, Times, Wall Street Journal, ZDNet, ISMG, Xinhua News, SCMP, The Hindu, The Nation, China Times, The Straits Times, ChannelNewsAsia, Zawya, Gulf Business and Al Bawaba.

 

 

Session 4: Management (Beyond COVID-19, Will Cybersecurity Ever Be the Same Again?)

Ts. Dr. Amirudin Abdul Wahab,

CyberSecurity Malaysia

Dato’ Ts. Dr. Haji Amirudin Abdul Wahab (“Dato’ Dr. Amir”) is currently the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CyberSecurity Malaysia, the agency that monitors e-sovereignty of the country. He has approximately 30 years of ICT working experience in the telecom and IT sector in the Government as well as in the semi-government and private sectors.

 

During Dato’ Ts. Dr. Amir’s leadership as CEO, Cybersecurity Malaysia managed to contribute to Malaysia’s achievement in attaining top 10 ranking in the world, at International Telecom Union (ITU) Global Cyber Security Index studies and became the first Malaysian to chair the World Trustmark Alliance (2014-2015). Besides that, during his leadership, Cybersecurity Malaysia was awarded the Best Cyber Security Innovation Award 2015 recipient by FireEye Global and won the Champion Prizes at the World Summit of the Information Society (WSIS) for 2 consecutive years (2016 & 2017) and also most recently in year 2020 as a winner of WSIS Prizes 2020 Category 5 at World Summit of the Information Society (WSIS) 2020: “Building Confidence and Security in the use of ICTs”. He received the ASEAN Award as an Outstanding Chief Information/Security Officer in conjunction with the 10th ASEAN CIO| CSO Summit and Awards 2014 held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on 2 December 2014. On 2nd May 2018, he was registered with the Malaysia Board of Technologist as Professional Technologist which has allowed him to use abbreviation “Ts” before his name.

 

During his leadership, Dato’ Ts. Dr. Amir also spearheaded various national and international Cybersecurity platforms such as serving as the cybersecurity co-chair in the Cybersecurity working Group for Council for Security Cooperation in the Asia Pacific (CSCAP) since 2015, as the Permanent Secretariat to the Organisation of Islamic Conference Computer Emergency Response Team (OIC- CERT) since 2013, Deputy Chair to Asia Pacific Computer Emergency Response Team (APCERT) for 2015 -2019 and current chair to APCERT since 2019 till now. Dato’ Ts. Dr. Amir is a Canadian-based POLCYB (The Society of The Policing of Cyberspace) Non-Executive Board of Directors for year 2015 to 2018. He used to serve as an OIC Task Force Member on ICT and Cyber Security and currently a Fellow at Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM). He was also appointed as the Vice-Chair of OIC Science and Technology Committee and Executive Committee Member of Annual Coordination Meeting of OIC Institutions (ACMOI) during the Thematic Committee on Science, Technology and Information Technology meeting which was held in conjunction with the Inaugural Annual Coordination Meeting of OIC Institutions on 7 December 2015 at Jeddah, Arab Saudi. He was also ratified by APEC ECSG on 27 February 2016 as an Expert Members for the 2nd APEC E-Commerce Business Alliance (ECBA) Expert Council (2016-2018) in which he was one of its Deputy Chairman. Dato’ Ts. Dr. Amir was also appointed as an Advisory Board Member of The Economist Intelligence Unit on Asia Smart City Program 2016.

 

Nationally, Dato’ Ts. Dr. Amirudin is currently the Chairman of the National ICT Standard Committee (ISCG) since Mar 2010 till current. He is also a Chairman of Board of Governance Global Accredited Cyber Security Education or Global ACE Scheme for Malaysia Chapter since 2018 and past Head of Secretariat to the National IT Council NITC chaired by YAB PM from 2010-2012. He is currently a Board Member of the Technology Park Malaysia (TPM) IT Sdn Bhd since 2016 and used to sit as a Board member to Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDeC) and MyNIC Berhad during 2011-2012 period, in addition to the Computer Industry Association of Malaysia (PIKOM) Council Board Member from 2014-2015. Most recently, he has been appointed as AKPK Board of Director and Member of AKPK Audit Committee for 2020 to 2022 session.

 

Dato’ Ts. Dr. Amir holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the School of Information Technology & Electrical Engineering (ITEE), University of Queensland, Australia. Dato’ Ts. Dr Amir also holds two Master degrees, a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Duqubue, Iowa, USA, a Masters in Information Technology from National University of Malaysia (UKM) and a Bachelor of Science Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA.

 

Academically, Dato’ Ts Dr. Amir is an Adjunct Professor at the International Islamic University of Malaysia (UIAM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP), Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) and Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) Malaysia. Currently he also serves as a Board of Studies Member of the Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP), University Malaya (UM), Universiti Kebangsaaan Malaysia (UKM) and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).

 

A calculated risk-taker with deep technical industry knowledge, Dato’ Ts. Dr. Haji Amirudin had built a strong reputation for developing effective and unique strategies and incubating new models and designs. He maintains a well-deserved national and international reputation in his field where he had been invited as keynote speakers and panelist in various local and international conferences and featured regularly in the various local TV, Radio, newspapers, magazines and online medias. He was conferred the Dato 'Paduka Mahkota Perak (D.P.M.P) by His Royal Highness the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, who brought him the title Dato' on 5 November 2016.

PISA-CERT, Pakistan

Mr. Ammar Jaffri has over 40 years of experience in the Governance, Digital Forensics, Information Technology, Security, Education and Philanthropy. He has served and led different departments in the Federal Government of Pakistan and has been recognized with some of the highest industry honours national as well as internationally. He retired as the Additional Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency of Pakistan in 2010 where he is the pioneering head of NR3C.

 

He has played the leading role in establishing a number of Technical Organizations from the very scratch during his service and currently active contributing at at the national and international level in initiatives of Cyber Security, Digital Forensics, Information Security, Internet of Things and many more.

Mr. Rashid Al Salmi,

Insight SOC

Rashid Al Salmi joined the University of Bahrain in 1993, took IT development jobs in the Sabre Group (Gulf Air Contractor), Call Center Middle East (Telecom services), Legend PAPI (Advertising). Later on he started his own company in Bahrain (called Insight as well). Rashid moved back to Oman in 2003 and co-founded Insight Information Technology with the aim of establishing the first IT security focused company in Oman. Today, Rashid is the Managing Director of Insight, steering the company’s strategy and business development portfolio. Insight Information Security LLC is at the forefront of the Omani information security market leaders, a true game changer that succeeded in bypassing much larger competitors in terms of market share and customer loyalty. Insight inaugurated its SOC services in 2020 and joined the OIC-CERT a few months after that.

Abdul-Hakeem Ajijola (AhA), a global cybersecurity resource is ranked #1 IFSEC 2020 Global Cybersecurity Professionals influencers and thought leaders list ; he is the Chair of the African Union Cyber Security Expert Group, Addis Ababa; Commissioner, Global Commission on the Stability of Cyberspace, The Hague; Supporting UNODA development of an online training course in “Cyberdiplomacy;" Resource Person, ITU Arab Regional Cyber Security Centre through Oman National CERT (OCERT) Muscat, Oman; Resource person, South East Asia Regional Centre for Counter-Terrorism (SEARCCT), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Resource person, on Cyber Security in Countering Terrorism and Violent Extremism for the Organization of the OIC Headquarters, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He is a founding member for the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation – Computer Emergency Response Team (OIC-CERT).

 

He is also the Chair of the Nigerian National Cybersecurity Policy and Strategy review committee, the Nigeria Computer Society Cybersecurity Advisory Group. He is a member of the Presidential Committee on the Development of National Broadband Plan and Group of Experts for the Nigerian Senate Committee on Cybersecurity and ICT. Hakeem is a Lead in the National Identity Management Harmonization and Integration Committee.

 

Abdul-Hakeem is the Chairman of the Consultancy Support Services (CS2) Ltd., a Cyber Security, e-Library and Information Communication Technology (ICT) Policy Consultancy Firm, in Abuja, Nigeria. He is working to kick-start the development of an Africa CyberSecurity Economic sub sector employing thousands of knowledge workers, below 35 years of age, who will profitably drive Cybersecurity solutions value chains.
