Located in the heart of Brunei’s retail and entertainment district Gadong, the Hotel is only 10 minutes from Brunei International Airport.


What to do around the hotel

The hotel is located at The Mall shopping complex, which comprises many retail establishments and a Cineplex. There are numerous restaurants in the area, including fast food, and Indonesian, Malaysian, Japanese, Italian and Chinese food. The Gadong Night Market is within walking distance from the hotel, offering a variety of local food such as barbequed seafood, noodles, satay, local desserts and more.

TRANSPORTATION FROM BRUNEI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Rizqun International Hotel is only 7 km from Brunei International Airport, which would take about 10 minutes’ drive.

Rizqun International Hotel offers airport transfers for hotel guests with the following charges:

  • B$35.00 nett per way (maximum of 3 people) from 7:00am to 8:59pm

  • B$45.00 nett per way (maximum of 3 people) from 9:00pm to 6:59am

  • B$15.00 nett per person per way (more than 3 people)

Please make arrangements for airport transfer when making your room reservation with the hotel.

 

Option for Different Hotels

  • The Centrepoint Hotel is only 5 mins walk to the event venue, The Rizqun International Hotel. However, Abdul Razak Hotel Apartment is not in vicinity of the conference and it would take about 8-10 minutes drive to the event venue, The Rizqun International Hotel.

  • Transportation can be arranged from Abdul Razak Hotel Apartment to the event venue, The Rizqun International Hotel at $25 per person (one way) and if it is more than 3 person it would be $15 per person (one way). Please let us know in advance if you wish to have their transportation arranged from the hotel apartment.

  • When making reservation, please let the hotel know that you are attending the OIC-CERT Conference & AGM on 20 – 22 October 2014 at The Rizqun International Hotel so they would be able to get the corporate rates for the room.

There are no metered taxis in Brunei. Taxis are available at most hotels, shopping centers and at the airport. It is advisable to prearrange your taxi rides by contacting the following numbers:

Weather
Sitting on the equator, Brunei Darussalam enjoys a tropical equatorial climate with an average temperature of about 28°C, high humidity and heavy rainfall. The weather in Brunei is generally hot and wet throughout the year, with December and May being the wettest months. Time Zone
Brunei is 8 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+8).

Electricity Supply
The standard voltage in Brunei is 240 volts and uses the G type plug/socket.

Smoking
Smoking is prohibited in both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned areas. It is also banned in specific places including sidewalks near business premises, public staircases, public areas, government buildings, hospitals, recreational areas, airport building, educational centers, restaurants and on public transport.

Money and Banking
The local currency is the Brunei Dollar (BND). Dollar notes are available in $1, $5, $10, $50, $100, 500 and $1,000 denominations, while coins are in 1, 5, 10, 20, and 50 cent denominations. The Brunei Dollar is pegged to the value of the Singapore Dollar and both currencies can be used in Brunei.

Banking Hours
Banks are generally open from 9am to 4pm on weekdays and 9am to 11am on Saturdays. There are two local banks with branches operating within the same building as the event venue, and are open daily from 10am to 10pm, 7 days a week. Most banks are government-approved to handle traveller’s cheques and currency exchange, and most offer ATMs on international networks.

Credit Cards
All major credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Diner’s Club, Union Pay) are accepted widely throughout Brunei.

Money Changers
Licensed money changers are conveniently located within walking distance from the event venue, and also at the airport, banks and hotel.

ABOUT BRUNEI


Brunei Darussalam is a small country located on the north-west coast of the island of Borneo, in the heart of Southeast Asia. It has a total land area of 5,765 km2 and over 160 kilometers of coastline along the South China Sea. The country is divided into four districts, namely Brunei-Muara, Tutong, Belait and Temburong. Its capital, Bandar Seri Begawan, is located in the Brunei-Muara district.

The population of Brunei Darussalam is 406,000, comprising of 67% Malays, 15% Chinese while Indians, indigenous ethnic groups and expatriates make up the rest of the country’s population. The official language is Malay Language, but English is widely spoken and understood. Arabic is also taught in some schools and institutions of higher learning.
