OVERVIEW

Introduction

The growth in cyber security research has encouraged the collaboration between the academia and industry practitioners. The Organisation of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has a substantial pool of resources and expertise both from the academia and industry practitioners that can produce quality research papers in the field of cyber security. These research papers can be published as a journal contributing to the body of knowledge in cyber security.

Project Description

The OIC-CERT Journal of Cyber Security (JCS) is an initiative under the OIC-Computer Emergency Response Team (OIC-CERT) led by CyberSecurity Malaysia and the Technical University of Malaysia Melaka, Malaysia.

Significance

The OIC-CERT JCS aspires to provide a platform for the academia and practitioners in the area of cyber security around the world to share experiences and knowledge through research and publication.

Approach

The OIC-CERT JCS seeks original contributions concerning any aspect of cyber security researches and best practices in the development, usage, failure, success, policies, strategies, and applications in the domain.

The journal invites contributions from scholars and practitioners involved in research, management, and the utilisation of cyber security solutions, in protecting the cyber space.

The journal publishes original papers, review papers, conceptual framework, analytical and simulation models, case studies, empirical research, technical notes, and book reviews.  Publication will be printed and online.

Aim and Scope

The OIC-CERT JCS aims to publish papers that are influential in the area of cyber security, and are engaging to information security professionals, technologist, engineers and academics.  The research that the journal intends to publish should therefore be interdisciplinary and include aspects from a wide variety of cyber security disciplines.  This discipline ranges from the technical field, such as engineering, computer science, or information systems, to non-technical descriptions of technology and management from the point of view of cyber security fundamentals and its application.

The proposed scope of content for the journal is on all issues related to the interaction of cyber security.
