THE MANDATE

 

Establishment of the Organisation of The Islamic Cooperation - Computer Emergency Response Teams (OIC-CERT)

The Organisation of The Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has approved and accepted the Resolution on "Collaboration of Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) Among the OIC Member Countries". The Resolution was approved during the 35th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OIC Meeting in Kampala, Uganda on 18 - 20 June 2008. The Resolution No 3/35-INF.

 

OIC-CERT as an Affiliated Institution of OIC

The Organisation of The Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has accepted the Resolution on "Granting the Organisation of the Islamic Conference-Computer Emergency Response Team (OIC-CERT) an Affiliated Institution Status". The Resolution was during the 36th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OIC Meeting in Damascus, Syrian Arab Republic on 23 - 25 May 2009. The Resolution No 2/36-INF.

 

35th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers, Kampala, Republic of Uganda. 18-20 June 2008 Resolution No 1/35-INF on the Information and Communication Sector Collaboration of Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) Among the OIC Member Countries

  1. Encourage all Member States to take the necessary measures, to encourage their national Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) to collaborate with the OIC-CERT, which will be a grouping dedicated in providing support and responding to computer security incidents.

 

36th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers, Damascus, Syrian Arab Republic. 23-25 May 2009 Resolution No 2/36-INF on the Information and Communication Sector Granting the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) an Affiliated Institution Status

  1. Encourage all Member States to take the necessary measure, to encourage their national Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) to collaborate with the OIC-CERT, which will be a grouping dedicated in providing support and responding to computer security incidents.
  2. Grant the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) the status of an affiliated institution in the OIC to enable it to commence its activities aimed at achieving security and cooperation in the area of information technology which has become an important factor in achieving development and stability.

 

37th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers, Dushanbe, Republic of Tajikistan. 18-20 May 2010 Resolution No 3/37-INF on the Information and Communication Sector Supporting the Computer Emergency Response Team (OIC-CERT) of the Organization of the Islamic Conference

  1. Encourage all Member States to take the necessary measure, to encourage their national Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) to collaborate with the OIC-CERT, which will be a grouping dedicated in providing support and responding to computer security incidents.
  2. Invite those Member States which are yet to join the OICCERT, to do so and to extend the necessary support to it in order to enable it to continue its activities aimed at realizing security and cooperation in the area of IT which has become a crucial factor in achieving development and stability.
