15) Badar Ali Said Al-Salehi, Director General, Oman National CERT Eng Alsalehi is a professional and dynamic leader with more than 20 years of work and professional experience in cybersecurity, with an objective of making the world a safer cyber and digital space. He has a demonstrated track record on leading and contributing to national, regional and international efforts and initiatives including the establishment of National CERTs, National Digital Forensics Labs, ITU Regional Cyber Security Center and Capacity Building and has been a key speaker at regional, national and international events. In addition to being the Director General of Oman National CERT, he is the Head of the Regional Cyber Security Center of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) a specialised ICT agency of United Nations. He is also the chairman of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation - Computer Emergency Response Team (OIC-CERT) and a co-founder of GCC-CERT.
The Africa Computer Emergency Response Team (AfricaCERT) has completed its first annual Drill to test the capability of Computer Security Incident Response Teams in African economies from 30 June – 01 July 2021.
The fifth-generation (5G) wireless technology represents a complete transformation of the telecommunication networks that will be able to cater for the demand from emerging and disruptive technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and Cloud computing, to name a few. These technologies require extensive bandwidth to enable new applications usage where 5G will transform the digital landscape and serve as a catalyst for innovation, new markets, and economic growth. In fact, 5G will be critical towards realizing the objectives of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), where billions of devices will be connected to the Internet through this technology.
