1. OIC-CERT Technical Workshop

Cyber-attack is mostly intentional in nature, ranging from defacing a website to stealing valuable information. With the ever-present cyber-crime, cyber-space is becoming a question of security which can become a national security threat. Thus, global experience and information sharing is a fundamental approach in managing and controlling such threats. Strategic alliance is needed especially in countering cyber-attacks. In this context, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Computer Emergency Response Team, OIC-CERT was formed in 2006 to ensure that its collaborative initiatives in matters pertaining to cyber-security would help strengthen OIC member countries' self reliance in cyber-space. The Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office was speaking at the launch of the OIC-CERT Technical Workshop 2011 on Incident Response Handling Training for OIC member countries, this morning.

2. OIC to come up with network to detect cyber threats

 

THE Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is looking to create an early warning network to prevent the spread of cyber threats from one member country to another as this can cause huge economic loss to governments.

 

Speaking at a technical workshop held at The Empire Hotel and Country Club, the chair of OIC-Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) said developing countries are at major risk of cyber attack due to their limited resources and capabilities, which has resulted in some of these countries now becoming epicentres of cyber crimes.

3. Bengkel Teknikal OIC-Cert

Serangan siber kebanyakannya adalah perkara yang sengaja, yang terdiri daripada pengubah sama laman web untuk mencuri maklumat berharga. Dengan jenayah siber yang sentiasa wujud, ruang siber menjadi persoalan keselamatan yang juga boleh menjadi ancaman keselamatan negara. Oleh itu, pengalaman global dan perkongsian maklumat adalah satu pendekatan asas dalam mengurus dan mengawal ancaman sedemikian. Perikatan strategik diperlukan terutamanya dalam menangani serangan siber.

 

Dalam konteks ini, Pertubuhan Kerjasama Islam Pasukan Tindak Balas Kecemasan Komputer, OIC-CERT telah ditubuhkan pada tahun 2006 untuk memastikan inisiatif kerjasama dalam perkara-perkara yang berkaitan dengan keselamatan siber akan membantu mengukuhkan dikari dalam ruang siber negara-negara anggota OIC . Timbalan Menteri di Pejabat Perdana Menteri berkata demikian pada majlis pelancaran Bengkel Teknikal OIC-CERT 2011: Latihan Pengendalian Insiden Respons bagi negara-negara anggota OIC, pagi ini.

4. The Organisation for Islamic Cooperation – Computer Emergency Response Team (OIC-CERT) Sealed a Memorandum of Understanding with The Asia Pacific Computer Emergency Response Team (APCERT)

The MoU signing was held in conjunction with the OIC-CERT Annual Conference and Annual General Meeting 2011 in Dubai, UAE  

 

(KUALA LUMPUR) –– The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation – Computer Emergency Response Team (OIC-CERT) announces the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the OIC-CERT and Asia Pacific Computer Emergency Response Team (APCERT). The signing ceremony was held during the OIC-CERT 3rd Annual Conference and General Meeting held recently in Dubai, UAE.

 

Lt Col Prof Dato' Husin Jazri (Retired), the Chief Executive Officer of CyberSecurity Malaysia said, "The cooperation with APCERT is another achievement by the OIC- CERT. Both parties agreed to collaborate on initiatives to address cyber threats and incidents in making cyberspace more reliable, safe and trustworthy". Among the initiatives that both parties have agreed to on a 'best effort' basis are to exchange information about the current and future developments among the members of the two groups; to conduct joint cyber exercises; to have information exchange between the parties; to participate in each other's seminars and conferences as appropriate and whenever possible; to cooperate in projects that have relevant context as per mutual agreement by both parties.

5. CyberSecurity Dipilih Semula Sebagai Pengerusi OIC-CERT

KUALA LUMPUR, 6 Okt (Bernama) — CyberSecurity Malaysia dilantik semula untuk tempoh dua tahun lagi sebagai Pengerusi Pertubuhan Persidangan Islam-Pasukan Bertindak Kecemasan Komputer (OIC-CERT) pada Persidangan tahunan dan Mesyuarat Agung Ketiga yang berlangsung di Dubai, Emiriyah Arab Bersatu baru-baru ini.

 

Mesyuarat yang diadakan mulai 26 hingga 28 Sept itu, dianjurkan bersama oleh CyberSecurity Malaysia dan Pasukan Bertindak Kecemasan Komputer Emiriyah Arab Bersatu (aeCERT), satu inisiatif di bawah Pihak Berkuasa Kawal Selia Telekomunikasi UAE (TRA).
